May 15 - 16 Jet Lagged in London

You Alright?
Yes...?
The unassuming, typical greeting of the Brits always seemed to throw me off. 'Yes, I'm alright. Do I not look alright? Why do you want to know?' :) And after having less than three hours of sleep on the plane and a loooooong day ahead of us, the greeting 'You Alright?' would have been answered with a 'huh?'
Beautiful liquid sunshine greeted us at Heathrow and with the skillful driving of Clive, our Mercedes-Benz taxi van driver, the very tired Schultz family made their way to the Falcon Hotel, neatly tucked away in the busy, noisy, crammed, but ever so historic, inviting, traditional Norfolk nook of London, England. We have arrived!
Only seven hours earlier we were enjoying the worship at Centralia Faith Tabernacle near London, ON., a place where David had poignantly said, “I could have worshipped for 8 hours with those believers.” From Huron Park, Leo Bourassa and Dad drove the two vehicles to the airport in Toronto. On the way, Kath, Karilyn, Dad, and myself were versed in the Church’s relationship with Israel by Dean Bye (who was also traveling with us to the airport). What amazing teaching! We were truly blessed and blown away by our role, as Gentiles, to the Jews. (Read Romans 8 - 12)!
After seeing Dean off at Terminal 1 (he was headed to Israel to prepare the way), we met with the Hufnagel family! After six years, several inches of growth, and a few provinces apart, we enjoyed each other’s humor for three hours before boarding our plane.
7 hours later and with no luggage trouble (Hallelujah!!), we quickly dropped off our bags and set out to ‘dash around London’ with one of Kari’s YWAM friends (Jess who lives in the area)! Dad purchased tour bus tickets (those double decker buses that you can hop on and off of all day at London’s main attractions) and we stopped at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Kensington Palace, Hyde Park, and Buckingham Palace.
While I’m sure I will always remember this day, Mom on the other hand will think it all but a dream - literally. How that lady managed to sleep on the bus jerking and jolting all over London will remain a mystery to me. Oh, jet lag!
