May 17 London Tower and Globe

Front of balcony seats at Shakespeare's Globe in London, UK.
Hello!
Hope this finds you all well and ready to read the Schultz Adventures over the last couple of very busy days :) May 17th in particular was a lot of firsts for the family. After a good nights’ sleep and getting adjusted to the time, we went out to spend the morning and most of the afternoon at the Tower of London. Unlike its seemingly gory reputation as a place of murder and torture, we were all very excited to see famous, detailed historic relics and monuments like the Crown Jewels, the medieval armory, the abode of Royalty, and monuments to British Soldiers throughout the ages. While there were symbolic etchings in the towers’ cell walls left from imprisoned Jews, Protestant, and Catholic history makers. We would definitely recommend if you are ever in the area, go to the Tower of London to get a historical British education in one castle!
Although Dad misplaced the family somewhere between the rampart walk and the dungeons, he stumbled upon London’s oldest church which has housed 1st editions of Tyndale, Wycliffe, King James Version Bibles (and copies of the Bible translated into Hebrew, Greek, Arabic, etc.) and the floor to the crypt of this church has parts in it possibly made of 2 A.D. Roman road! Wish we had more time there!
After the Tower and the church we made our way over the Millenium Bridge to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre to see “As You Like It”. With front balcony seating, this comedy held our complete attention! Fantastic acting and, of course, well written. David commented that the “swashing and a martial outside/ As many other mannish cowards have/ That do outface it with their semblances.” made sense to him.
The fully packed, amazing day ended with a beautiful view of the Thames under the glow of London’s night lights.
